Freesia

Fragrant elegance for cut flowers and pots
Freesia is a refined bulb plant known for its elegant flowers and characteristic, sweet scent. These flowers are popular in bouquets, bridal work and interior decoration. Freesia is suitable for greenhouse and tunnel cultivation, but can also be used in pots or on sheltered terraces. The flowers are available in white, yellow, orange, red, pink, blue and purple - both single and double-flowered. Thanks to their long vase life, strong scent and graceful shape, freesias are a favourite with florists and growers all over the world.
Freesia – fragrance, colour and ornamental value in one flower
Freesia is a South African bulbous plant that is loved worldwide in cut flower cultivation. The plant produces clusters of elegant flowers on one side of an arching stem, with a scent that is immediately recognisable. They flower in a wide spectrum of colours and are available as single or double flowered cultivars.
Freesia grows best in light, airy soil in a sheltered, sunny spot. Professional growers usually use greenhouse or tunnel cultivation to extend the growing season and maximise quality. In colder climates, freesia is not winter hardy, but as a spring bulb under glass or in a pot, it performs excellently.
