Tulipa

Tulip in all shapes, colours and applications
Tulipa, or the tulip, is without a doubt the spring flower par excellence. With thousands of cultivars in all conceivable colours, shapes and heights, the tulip is an indispensable part of gardens, parks, borders, pots and flower shows worldwide. Tulips offer an early colour boost in the spring, from March to May, and combine well with other bulbs such as hyacinths, daffodils and muscari. They are suitable for cut flower cultivation, retail sales and naturalising. Whether it is classic Darwin hybrids, Triumph tulips, fringed types or botanical varieties - the possibilities are endless.
Tulipa – icon of spring and global trade classic
The tulip is one of the most cultivated flower bulbs in the world. Originally from Central Asia, the tulip became the national symbol of the Netherlands and has developed into an essential export product. With an unprecedented variety of colours, inflorescences and heights, the tulip fits into any type of planting – from large-scale landscapes to balcony pots.
Tulips are divided into several main groups:
Triumph – sturdy, mid-season, many colours
Darwin Hybrids – large-flowered, long-stemmed, ideal for cut flowers
Lily-flowered – elegant, slender, late flowering
Double early/late – double flowers, shorter in length
Botanical/species – low-growing, very suitable for naturalizing
They are planted in the fall and flower from March to May. Tulips are easy to grow, require well-drained soil and a sunny spot. Cut flowers are often grown under glass or in a tunnel, with harvest from February (when forcing).
Application:
Garden borders and flower beds (layered planting)
Pots and containers for retail and patio decoration
Cut flower cultivation – both greenhouse and open field
Public flowering events and seasonal shows
Combination planting with other flower bulbs
