Hydrangea-Hortensia

Long-lasting flowering with ornamental value
Hydrangea is an ornamental shrub that excels in long, exuberant flowering and impressive flower heads. From the classic mophead hydrangeas to elegant plume-shaped varieties – this plant brings volume, colour and seasonal structure to any garden or public green project. Available in white, pink, blue, purple and lime green, depending on the variety and soil pH. Hydrangeas are suitable for open ground, pot culture and as cut flowers. They require little maintenance, are winter-hardy and have been a permanent part of professional and private plantings for years. Thanks to their strong ornamental value, they are also popular in garden centres and export markets.
Hydrangea – voluminous flowering for garden, cut flower and pot
Hydrangeas are among the most popular ornamental shrubs in Europe and beyond. They combine long-lasting flowering with a great visual impact. There are several species, including Hydrangea macrophylla (mophead hydrangea), Hydrangea paniculata (panicle hydrangea), Hydrangea arborescens (‘Annabelle’ type) and Hydrangea serrata. Each with their own flowering habit, structure and application.
Flowering usually starts in June and can continue until September. Mophead hydrangeas are loved for their symmetrical, spherical flowers and colour change in acidic or alkaline soil. Panicle hydrangeas bloom on one-year-old branches and are less sensitive to frost. Modern varieties have sturdy stems, bright colours and a longer flowering period.
Hydrangeas are used in gardens, parks, public planting and in pot culture. They are also gaining ground as cut flowers thanks to their durability and decorative value, fresh or dried.
