Canna

Tropical flair with great effect
Canna is a striking summer bloomer with large, banana-like leaves and brightly coloured flowers in red, yellow, orange or pink shades. This robust plant immediately brings a tropical atmosphere to borders, parks and pots. Due to its height and powerful appearance, Canna is ideal as a solitary or as a background plant in summer plantings. It grows quickly, loves warmth and sun, and delivers spectacular flowering from July until the first frost. Suitable for both private gardens and large-scale planting in public spaces.
Canna – tropical power for garden, park and terrace
Canna (Canna indica and hybrids) is an exotic tuberous plant from tropical America. It grows quickly and can reach heights of 60 cm to over 1.5 meters, depending on the variety. The large leaves – often green or purple-bronze – already provide structure before flowering, which lasts from July to October.
The flowers appear in clusters above the leaves and come in fiery colors such as bright red, orange, yellow or two-tone. The plant requires a sunny, warm location and nutritious, slightly moist soil. Cannas are often used as eye-catchers in public plantings, but also in borders, large pots and as seasonal accents.
